“As the research into the effectiveness of psychedelic drugs in the treatment of psychiatric illnesses continues in Australia and around the world, I believe it is time to look beyond this indication for psychedelic research and aim for broader horizons.
I believe the time has come to investigate psychedelic substances not as medical treatments but as substances that might be used for “the betterment of well people and the societies in which we live”, or indeed as substances that help provide meaning to human experience.”
